Product Description: Horehound is a perennial plant that belongs to the mint family. It is native to Europe and Asia but is now found throughout North America. The leaves and flowers of the horehound plant have a bitter taste and are commonly used for medicinal purposes.

 

Common Uses: Horehound is commonly used to treat respiratory issues, such as coughs, colds, and bronchitis. It is also used to stimulate digestion and to treat liver and gallbladder issues. Horehound is also used as a mild sedative and to relieve menstrual cramps.

 

How to Use Explanation: Horehound can be taken as a tea, tincture, or in capsule form. For tea, use 1-2 teaspoons of dried horehound in 8 ounces of boiling water and let steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink up to three times a day. For tincture, use 1-2 dropperfuls up to three times a day. For capsules, follow the recommended dosage on the label.

 

Warning Signs for the Product: Horehound should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women or individuals with liver or kidney disease. It can cause gastrointestinal distress, including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Horehound can also cause allergic reactions in some individuals.
